Advice on getting disability for Epilepsy

Does anyone here get disablity for having epilepsy? I'm in the process of trying to get it, but not sure of all the steps I have to take. I've been getting seizures since I was 9 yrs old I'm now 22 and everything is just getting worse, any advice?

I worked for the State of TX almost 20 years, my seizures kept getting worse, i went 6 months seizure free and was released to drive, on the day i left for work in my 1970 ford truck, i suffered a seizure while driving on the freeway. I almost died, now i have lost my job, no income i applied for disability in july 2010, still waiting to hear something. I have worked since i was 14 years old im now 54. The seizures have really damaged my memory, i have been very depressed alone with diabetes, enlarge prostate, neurapathy, constant pain. Even after dealing with the seizures alone, I pray i get my disability. The wait makes it even worser.

well tia i get disablity, but it took me about a year for them to push through all the paperwork thats the bad news now the good news is that. I started having seizures when i was nine got home from a little league game and fell out now im 23 and i get disability but my mother had to help me because there is so much red tape and paper work you have to cross. Stick with it we are the ones that really deserve disability tia. You will get it.

Tia Im Laura Gallaugher's mother . I went with her to get on disabilty to Human Resources . she has had Epilepsy since she was very young but didnt know it . She would come in the house and cry get it out get it out. I would soothe her and she would go on and play. Like nothing ever happened. but as she grea older she always felt she was someone else like someone or something was taking over her body. at 17 she had a grand mall about the same time as her Daddy had a heart attack. Stress was a lot of it Im sure. She is now 37 and a beautiful lady, and she is trying very hard not to let this illness keep her from doing what she wants to do. Sometimes it cause's me stress as I just never know whats gonna happen next. She lives alone and thats even more scarry. She is going back to school now and has confidence she will make it. I hope and pray she does . She is very smart when it comes to figures. She wants to be a CPA. I just wish she would find a man who would love her and take care of her for what she is. she laughes when I say that.
Im always trying to fix her up LOL. Well when you go let them know everything and dont hold any back. I think you should qualify for disability

Are you able to work outside of home (gainful employment)?
