I am trying the day by day thing. I am here today, and found a reason to smile. I walked into my office, not following a straight path, bumped a few walls on the way in. ( mind you I carry a laptop, briefcase and purse. Along with a drink normally, NOW add meds to it) Which of course came with the customary stares, and questions of concern. I have a severe headache today, (often the case) so office is dark, which always surprises people, and the rumors that spread with that alone, are…

Hello Everyone!!
My name is Jamiee, and I am a 35, married Mother of two small boys from Upstate NY.. I want to share my story, and hope some can relate or even provide me with feedback. I feel I have hit a brick wall with my medical team and the frustration level is at its highest for me.
November 1st 2010, I woke up on a stretcher, being wheeled into the ER, with only my cell phone on my chest. Very quickly I realized two things 1) I was a lone 2) I…

Robert William said… Welcome Jamiee to this wonderful place.
My name is Gail & my son is Robert. Robert has been having grand-mal
due to a sledding accident that took place when he was about 11 years
old.
We over time spent many days & nights in the hospitals cause of his
seizures were "so out of control". I needed to have oxygen in our home
til the ambulances got here. They would come all hours of the morning.
Robert had "no life" at all. It came a point that it seemed like
epilepsy was controling "us".
Finally we had gone to Albany Medical Center in Albany,NY.
We found Dr. Anthony Rittico. He has treated Robert ever since.
He had suggested that we get the VNS implant as he was a excellant
patient for this. We did.
Now he has been seizure for almost 5-6 years now.
It took what seemed like a very long time to get where we
are today. If you have any questions please free to e-mail.
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. - Gail
