Hi, New Mexico. Does anyone here have Molina SCI? And if so can you give me any information about the change over at the beginning of the year. How is the Affordable Care Act going to affect SCI? Thank you so much.

Does anyone know when the next support meeting is? I would like to go to the next one.

Hi. My name is Liz and I understand the isolation of being unable to drive. I live outside of Las Cruces -- eight miles beyond the bus line -- and sometimes it feels like I live on the moon. I also had to quit a job I loved due to uncontrolled complex partial seizures and am stuck at home most of the time with few friends who visit. So I am working with the doctors to find a medicine or medicines that will control the seizures, but have been warned they will probably never be completely gone. So I am working to build a new life for myself from home. Thanks to the Internet, that is a lot more possible than it once was. Hey, Issac, Maybe we could form a Southern New Mexico support group that could meet via a chat room for those of us who have trouble getting out and about.

Isaac, if you're interested, we do have two epilepsy support groups here in Albuquerque - not sure where you are from in New Mexico, but if you are in town, we meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 6-7:30pm and we also have a weekly meeting on Friday from 9-11am.  Both groups meet at 505 Marquette NW Suite 1840, which is the Compass Bank building downtown.  We'd love to have you come join us!

I just joined this site not too long ago I like to see advocates here in New Mexico I'm a patient of UNM neuroscience center and I find out next month if I will be approved for temporal lobe resection in my left temporal lobe I have been having grand mal seizures in my sleep since about 2009. I have lost the majorty of my friends really found out who my friends trully were. I had to quit working , stop driving , and stop most rigid physical activity when I started having the seizures. I am hoping that I am approved for this surgery although I am a little stressed about it of course. I hope that others will help me calm down and gather more information going into my visit to find out about my surgery . Thank You Bless Everyone Isaac

Epilepsy Walk NM 2013 is only 33 days away!  We'll be holding the walk at Tiguex Park in Old Town this year to keep it a little more intimate and help people feel they are involved in something as a group.  We'll have laughter yoga again, and are trying to get volunteers who can do face painting, and other activities!  For more information, go to our website at www.epilepsysupportnm.org or our walk registration site at www.regonline.com/epilepsywalknm2013   We'd love to see everyone come out and support epilepsy awareness in Albuquerque!
